HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – BIRMINGHAM, WEST MIDLANDS

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent hourly rates, trunking-only work, and ongoing assignments running up until Christmas.

Shifts

  • Days: start times between 5:00am – 10:00am
  • Nights: start times between 4:30pm – 7:30pm
  • Work available Monday to Sunday
  • Immediate starts available

Rates of Pay

  • Days: £18.00 per hour
  • Nights: £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Trunking between Birmingham and major distribution centres
  • Operating and driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant
  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and driver regulations
  • Communicating professionally with the transport office
  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance concerns promptly

Essential Skills

  • Valid UK Category CE licence
  • Maximum of six penalty points (minor infringements only)
  • Ideally two years' Class 1 experience (flexibility available)
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability
  • Strong understanding of road transport and compliance regulations

Desirable Experience

  • Previous trunking experience
  • Experience working for large logistics operations

Training Provided

  • Full site induction
  • Ongoing support throughout your assignment
