People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity, offering competitive pay rates and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts:
Working days between Monday - Sunday: start times between 04:00 – 06:00

Rates of pay:
Monday to Friday (Days): £17.50 per hour
Saturday: £20.50 per hour
Sunday: £23.50 per hour
Day-to-day duties:
As a Class 1 Shunter Driver , your duties will include (but not be limited to):
Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
Carrying out daily yard checks in line with site rules and health and safety guidelines
Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
Covering trunking routes when required
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Class 1 Shunter Driver , you will need:
A valid UK Category CE licence
A minimum of 2 years' experience driving and shunting
No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
Good spoken and written English
Punctuality and strong time-keeping skills
A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
Excellent communication skills, as you will liaise with both transport and warehouse teams (radio use is essential)
Desirable experience:
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Training:
A driver's assessment must be completed before starting
